Funky Fingers Jawbreaker swatches+review

Hey all! I've got my first "milky white with glitter" polish to show you today. I mean, I've never had one before - but apparently a while back they were all the rage! You'll havta forgive the ouchie on my middle finger. My cuticle got caught on my jacket and ripped off :(

This is Funky Finger Jawbreaker. I picked it up on my very first trip into a Five Below with my friends Jennifer and Kristin! The formula was really good on this, as I've found most of the Funky Fingers are. I needed three thin coats to achieve what is pictured. I like the way the glitter pokes out of the base very cleanly. It doesn't hide under so many coats - I'm guessing that's a white-based polish thing?

The best thing about it? Polishes at Five Below are 3 for $5. The worst thing? REMOVAL. Holy Moses. I used to foil method, of course, but it still didn't get all the glitter off my nails! Next time I wear it, I'll definitely wear it over a white base... and speaking of which - the white base. You can tell I've got some yellowing on my nails because the base of the polish on my fingers is sort of, well, not white. It's kind of pink actually...

Finger Paints Shredded Chrome collection

**press sample**
Today I've got the chunky glitters of the Finger Paints Shredded Chrome collection, which is available at Sally's! I'm going to be up front and say that these polishes were hard to photograph for me - it seemed like they were literally too blingy to get good photos! So on one hand, check the sparkle! ...on the other hand, haha! I am wearing two thick coats of each glitter below - some could have made due with a third, if I'm being honest :)

Let's start with my favorite of the collection - Stardust Blush! This one has silver, gold and dark pink glitter (yes, I like the one with pink in it!), and looks chunkier than it is. A nice coat of thick topcoat and there'd be no bumpiness.

And then, Metallic Moondust, which is just like Stardust Blush, but instead of pink glitter, it's green. This is one that could have done with a third coat. I like this one, tho. I think it would go great ith a thin coat over a very deep green.

Again, like the two before it, Stargazing Lilac has the gold and silver glitter, but this time there's lavender glitter along for the ride. This one, I think, is the most glitter packed of all 5 polishes. It almost give off a foil-esque appearance!

Now we're down to the ones I'm iffy about - the first of which is Crystalline Crush. This one featured the gold and silver glitter, along with a rose gold color of glitter. My only complaint is that it doesn't go well with my skintone, really. I think it's more of a preference thing :)

And finally, Gilded Chrome. This is the one polish in the collection without an additional color. It's very heavy on the silver, but there is gold also. This reminds me of serious BLING. For me, it would be best served as an accent nail to punch up my mani - and not on all my nails.

What do you guys think of this collection? They are super sparkly and shiny, that's for sure! They don't play well in the sun, and have the potential to blind you, I've learned hahahah You can purchase these right now at Sally's Beauty Supply.

Wet n Wild Wind Shine Too Hot For You swatches and review

Oooh what do we have here? A new Wet n Wild Wild Shine polish? Oh yeah, there's a new LE display, Street Art, floating around! This polish, Too Hot For You, is my favorite of the bunch :) I couldn't resist snagging a bottle when I found the display at Walgreens. I've since found displays at CVS and KMart.

It just looks like it's on fire! The shimmer really jumps out at ya. Two coats is what is pictured. It's a bright red-orange with pinkish shimmer. The formula is good, especially for a $1 polish! No streakiness or application issues. I just LOVE looking at it!

Chevron nail art - with a holo topper!

**press sample**
I've got another simple nail art today - this one featuring Essence, Jordana, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and VyNails - and topped with Literary Lacquers! How does it break down?

I started with a base of Essence Romeo, this is one of the original Nail Art Twins. It's a great grey base, I got it from a friend :) I slapped on some chevron guides from VyNails, my favorite vinyl nail guides! I was sent these for review, and I use them a lot! Sometimes I put them down and paint over them, and sometimes I stick 'em right on the nail :) I used Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Pond (the darker blue) and Jordana Boy oh Boy (the teal) and painted on opposite ends of the chevron, gently removed the chevron guides, and this came out:

I wore this for two days before deciding to punch it up with Literary Lacquers I'm Drinking Stars. I received that polish for review. And I love it. I top a lot of manis with it because it just adds a little something extra! :)
