The one with Franken Friday - Destany's Revenge! :)

Happy Friday! We are back into the swing of things with Franken Fridays :) Today's post is an awesome franken named after me! This is one of Laurie's creations, Destany's Revenge! It's deep red, it's sparkly, it's flaky, it's awesome!

I layered it over OPI Red Hot Ayers Rock, a color which is a hottish pinkish reddish jellyish. Nice description huh? hahah

The one with WnW Jezebel! :)

Quick post today (cause the lighting around here has just been terrible lately!) I decided to wear Wet n Wild Jezebel, and it's a gorgeous shimmery orangey red. Right up my alley! Pictured is two coats. I had no problem with application.
All photos are taken in dreary conditions with overcast skies. I really wish I could have gotten this shimmery goodness int he sunlight. This is one of my favorite Wild Shine colors. Tomorrow I have a super pretty franken by my friend Laurie....y'all can't wait, can you? :)

The one with Essence Twins Gabriella+Troy

Hello all! It's almost the new year! I started this blog on January 4, 2011. I've been blogging for almost one full year :) Well, I didn't start blogging about polish and beauty products on January 4, but that's the date I made my first post. Who knows, there might a 1 year blogaversary giveaway coming up soon!

But what do I have for you today? It's another set of Essence twins! This time I've got Gabriella and Troy (are they are High School Musical?) Gabriella is a rich, vibrant grape-y purple with an awesome blue shimmer. She's gorgeous alone, and I was tempted to wear her on her own :) Pictured is one coat.

You can really see the shimmer in the flash photos. It's just a beautiful color! So, as you may have noticed with the Essence Twins, the second "half" of the combo is  a glitter. Troy is a clear jelly base with purple and blue glitter. All of these photos are outside in the sunlight.
So what do you think? Is this a winning duo? I kind of like Gabriella more on its own than with the glitter on top.

The one with Ulta Howl at the Moon! :)

Hello out there all you polish lovers! :) Today I have for you one of the Ulta Halloween polishes, Howl at the Moon, which was in the two pack with the magenta Vampire's Kiss. I bought them on my second trip to an Ulta. My husband knows better than to let me actually go to an Ulta often ;) Pictured is two coats.
Unfortunately, with our weather lately, we can't get a lot of outside pics with sunlight. These are all three inside with the flash. It's a gorgeous deep blurple. I've used it for a base of several manis....glitter, flakies...it can withstand them all :) Formula was excellent - opaque in one coat if you really wanted it to be :) Two coats is my norm, tho, so my swatches are two coats.

The one with SinfulColors Wish collection for holiday 2011

Morning everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas :) Or whatever holiday you celebrate. If you don't celebrate, I just hope you had a great day!

Today I have for you the SinfulColors 2011 holiday collection, Wish. It consists of five polishes and two nails art brushes. Today I'm featuring the polishes :)

SUGAR SUGAR: a candy cane, red-hot tint
Sugar, Sugar was opaque in two coats, and the formula was excellent! I love this shimmery shade of red and will wear it a lot.

MIDNIGHT BLUE: a bold, bright twist on navy
Midnight Blue was opaque and gorgeous in one coat. The formula was a tad thick, but not so much that it was a hassle. This color will be a staple for me, as my husband is a big fan of blue.

DADDY'S GIRL: a deep purple with a drizzle of shimmer and glitter
I had issues with Daddy's Girl. I think it was only because I was trying to wear it on its own. I think Daddy's Girl would be best layered over something, anything. Pictured below is three coats. The formula was thin, but again, I think that's what would make it best for layering.

LAST CHANCE: an emerald with depth and allure
Holy Deep Green, Batman! This is one coat. ONE COAT. It's beautiful. Just gorgeous! The formula was like butter, and it practically flowed on the nail! My only issue was that I had the slightest of staining even with ny base coat. That could be fixed by doubling or tripling up on the base.

OUT OF THIS WORLD: a perfect silver with swirls of glimmer
The real problem child for this group (at least for me) was this silver shimmer. Pictured below is three thin coats, and I can still see patchiness in places. This is another one that would be good for thin layering, maybe.

The one with OPI Wocka Wocka and Rainbow Connection

Merry Christmas Eve! I really didn't have a post planned for today, and I don't really do nail art. So honestly, this isn't a Christmas-esque post. Sorry about that, but it is a really nice layering combo! Last month, my family (which is just my husband and son) went to see the Muppets together. We all three enjoyed it :) But I knew that since we were seeing the Muppets, I had to use my new OPI polishes. My friend Summer got them for me, and I love them so much!

I let Lucas choose the polishes, and she chose Wocka Wocka and Rainbow Connection!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

The one with OPI Vampire State Building - AND IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! I don't have all my gifts yet - but at midnight I got to open on gift...my husband got me a bottle of Cult Nails Tied Up!

But what do I have for you today? MY MOST WANTED POLISH EVER! It's finally mine!!!! OPI's Vampire State Building. IT'S MINE! VSB is from the 2000 New York collection, and it's so very hard to find! Some very dear friends, Wendy and Carly, bought this for me and another polish person, Laurie. Words cannot express how thankful and overjoyed I am at finally owning this. I was literally speechless for a good half hour after I opened it. Even now, actually, my words are failing me...
I just....let's just move on to mani pics...
I'm seriously still speechless just looking at my photos. This is a polish I never, ever thought I would own. It was just too hard to find. I am so thankful I have friends who not only listened to me...but took the time to get it for me. Even if it was only to shut me up :) hahah

So because I never thought I'd get it, I searched for dupes. A lot of dupes. What did I come up with?
OPI Vampire State Building, Zoya Sam, Dr.'s Remedy DEFENSE Deep Red and Revlon Vixen
How do they look on the nail? Pictured is the same order in the photographs.
As you can see, the two in the middle are much deeper and more brown than the two on the outside. Vixen is so close to being a dupe it isn't even funny. But nothing compares to having VSB :)

The one with Ulta Vampire's Kiss and Lynderella Very Pretty Vampire!

TOMORROW'S MY BIRTHDAY! I wonder how many people IRL will forget? :) heheh Today I have a vampy combo coming up - Ulta Vampire's Kiss topped with Lynderella's Very Pretty Vampire! I got Very Pretty Vampire in a swap with a fellow polish lover, and it's...well, more on that later.

Vampire's Kiss is a magenta-ish red that was in a two pack for Halloween with a blurple called Howl at the Moon (which will be featured later!) I don't get to be around Ultas very often. I've only been to an Ulta twice. That's probly a good thing. I would spend way too much money!!

Pretty huh? It's a deeper magenta...not quite pink. But I thought it would be perfect as a base of Very Pretty Vampire. Vampire's Kiss+Very Pretty Vampire? haha yeah! :) So when I got Very Pretty Vampire (which, as you can tell by the pictures it was a while after the Vampire's Kiss swatches hahah) I did some layering...
Yep! Shot nubbins compared to the previous swatches! Well, no matter. I will say this. Very Pretty Vampire is appropriately named. It's so Very Pretty!!!!!! And so chunky and clumpy that it sucks the life right out of you trying to use it! I've had some clumpy polishes before, but this one takes the cake. It's just...hard to work with. Maybe I will try it again sometime! :)
