The one with Fail Art Thursday - a minty marble!

I tell ya, kids, this watermarbling stuff is really for the birds. Even when I get it right, I screw it up! Case in point today's post - a minty looking watermarble. IT WAS PERFECT. I actually did it right! It looked beautiful! So today my fail isn't the art...it's the top coat :(

PLEASE IMAGINE THIS MANI BEFORE THE TOP COAT SMEARED IT :( I used OPI Suzi Says Da!, Mermaid's Tears and Jade is the New Black
It makes me so sad! I had done it - conquered the watermarble beast! But top coat had to ruin it. I'm kicking myself for not taking pre-top coat pictures. UGH Lessons learned. I did everything I was told to do in regards to top coat and art. I had lots of top coat on my brush, I didn't drag the brush too close to the nail...I dunno why it had to ruin it. Has this type of thing ever happened to you?

Have you entered Jodi and Destany's Super Awesome Fantastic Giveway yet?

**DISCLAIMER**  I was not paid for this review by anyone. I either purchased these polishes myself or were given gifts as friends because I could not find the particular shade I wanted myself.  I am not a professional nail tech, nor do I want to be. I'm just someone who enjoys polishing my own nails :)

  3. What kind of topcoat did you use? Some top coats don't work out so well w1th water marbles! Also, maybe a stupid question but you let it set and dry for a few minutes right?

    1. I waited for a half an hour! I figured that would be more than enough time for any top coat to not have smeared it!

    2. Sounds like long enough to me! I hear the NYC quick dry top coat works well and won't smear. I use Seche but it does shrink polish at times and I have found the Color Club Top Coat to work well for me!

  4. This is so cool! I wouldn't have even noticed the smearing if you wouldn't have brought it up. It looks like a bowling ball my mom had when I was younger - it brings back memories:)

  8. Great job! I can't even get stamping right, so there's no way I'd manage water marble.
