Let me start by saying that my lips are terminally thin. This stain might look completely different on you if your lips are more full. I think, on me, it looks weird. Mostly because the color is so dark, and there's not much to my lips. I think it makes me look awkward. hahah But off to the product! DuWop Twilight Venom, which I got from Apothica, is marketed as a deep crimson stain-plumper hybrid, that "is sure to help you catch your Edward." *eyeroll*
The lip stain comes in this really cute cardboard tube. Which is excellent because the actual vial of stain, which looks like a vial of blood, is so small. For the price, I was expecting a bigger vial, but I digress. You open the tube and take the vial out, and there is also a little insert about one of the Twilight movies. I'm not a fan, so I paid absolutely no attention to it. No, I haven't read the books, nor have I watched any of the movies. I tried to read the first book but had to quit because I wasn't into the writing style (read: I don't think Stephenie Meyer can write worth a hoot). Aaaaanyway :) hahah
It looks intense in the vial, right? It looks literally like dried blood all over the applicator :) But what does it look like on? I think it's important to note that I don't think "plumper" part of this lip stain worked for me. As you can see, my lips still look mighty thin...
It's so dark! I'm not sure with my sort of pale skin if it will work. I might have to try it with a full face look to see if I can pull it off to be able to wear it out in public hahaha I like the packaging. It's really cute. And a little goes a long way! Which is good because at a price tag of $15.80 it should last a while!

I'm going to ignore the fact that you don't like Twilight ;) I love this color it's really pretty and I love the vile it comes in.
ReplyDeletehahah I tried to read it...I really did! :)
DeleteI don't like twilight either, but this lip colour looks really great!
ReplyDeleteBut if I'm taking a good look at your pictures, I don't think you have such thin lips! You have soooo much more bottom lip to fill in! I don't know if you have tried filling in your lips a bit more generous before, but I just noticed and wanted to tell you. Can you see that shade, under your lips? You could fill in your lips just up to there, it would make a huge difference!
Seriously, you have great lips and I think you could really pull this colour off. =)
xx
Thanks for the tips! :) I tried filling in more down toward the bottom, but it felt like it was bleeding down to my chin! hahahah I still have a lot of experimenting to go...and I'm learning more every day :)
DeleteHaha, I know what you mean! It can feel like your painting lippy on your skin, it used to mess with my head too. Just don't believe what your nerves tell you, they don't know sh*t =p
DeleteGood luck with experimenting! =)
xx
From what I can see I think the colour looks very nice on you. :)
ReplyDeletethanks! :) it's growing on me haha
DeleteI'm not a fan of Twilight either, but that lip colour looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteit really is great! i hope i can get the courage to wear it outside! haha
DeleteI like it! And I agree with Loes about your bottom lip, you've totally got the pouty thing going :). I have the same problem with bleeding all over my face when I do a dark gloss... I was just given the tip to outline with a clear lipliner (didn't even know they existed!) so I think I'll track one down and give it a shot.
ReplyDeleteawwww thanks! clear lip liner....i will definitely be on the lookout for it!
Deleteyou could always dab it on your cheeks and rub it in so it works as a blush instead.
ReplyDeleteoooh that would sure push the dramatic envelope! :)
